Re: Shopping online.

This is a general mail order store with a decent size electronics section

http://getforless.com/

The reason I know about it is because it keeps showing up in the mailbox on occasion.

Is it me or are mizalla's prices a little bit high?
Besides, thumbs up for the site. It's impeccable.

I'll try to get Haytham (the founder) to weigh in and justify the prices :)

Re: Shopping online.

Hello,
Haytham from Mizalla.com here.

I wanna thank you guys for the comments and critiques... It is true that some items are more expensive than pcandparts.com lets say, we cannot even compete on internal computer parts with them for the simple reason that their products are not from the official exclusive dealers... there's something fishy about how they do business, but we're not judging.

While this is meaningless for the average shopper who just wants his item, you should know that official (sometimes International) warranties do not apply from products bought from pcandparts.com, only pcandparts.com's warranty applies. There are other disadvantages too.

For most (yes most) of other products, we're cheaper than the Lebanese market (online and offline), the upcoming departments will be proof of that.

In the mean time, i thank you all, happy e-shopping... you can leave me a note here, i'll be glad to answer you all geeks! cheers.

Hi, no CMS, it's all built in-house, what do you want to know?

Hi there Haitham,
I want to ask about your business,Do you have all the products in your warehouse for real? or just keep them at the dealer and get them whenever they are requested?
(Hope you can answer this )Does pcandparts.com has a physical warehouse, and if so why don't they establish a pc shop and sell online/@ shop at the same time.

By actually looking at the site you could easily grasp the concept behind it. It's a portal for sellers and buyers alike. It's a B2C channel. So the question to your answer is a big NO..

If your are a seller you could register with them and publish your products on their site for possible customers to browse and buy from. All they take car of is:

1- Displaying your products
2- facilitating the business transaction between both parties ( payment and delivery )

Hope this answers your question regarding the warehousing.

Hi Haytham. Could you share a bit of details about the payment gateway? Last time I looked into payment processing in Lebanon was a few years ago and options were limited/expensive. Have things changed? Is it a pain to set up?

Congrats on the site and good luck

Haytham, how are you handling the calls?
Moreover, is it to limit the number of fake orders and avoid charges from aramex in case of a no show (considering they chose cash on delivery?).

Hi vic, Haytham from Mizalla here.
Well, it's not cheap, but it's not expensive either... they're willing to go cheaper on the rates if the sales go beyond a certain point (so make sure you buy alot :)).

The process was painless, it took us a couple of days to test and a couple of days to implement. Bank Audi are responsive.. allow 2-3 days for each request (activate your test account/activate your official account). Of course, you should make sure all your paper work is set and legal... that's pain you should take care of :)

Their API is straight forward, you just send an HTTP request with the right data... nothing to be worried about. Their API is documented and they give you sample codes as well.

Hope that helps.

Hi Samer,
Well... for cash on delivery, we do background checks (kidding), we actually call the customer, make sure of their address, time of delivery and such. We have set processes and procedures to handle fake orders. Long story short, we kidnap you, use you as paint ball shooting target then give you 1000 LL to go back home.

cheers

Hello Rani,
Well in a word, yes, few items are more expensive but only because we are required to do so by the authorized and official Lebanese dealers. So we don't have much control over the prices of some items. However, if you closely inspect all the non-computer items, we're cheaper than the market.

hope that helps

Re: Shopping online.

I am a costumer at MicroTechStore I like their customer service too when I had a problem with a VGA i got from them.

Another site is HTC Lebanon I know the owner so I'm suggesting the site, again a good costumer service they have.

I hope everything will be available to buy online in Lebanon soon..
