Hey guys, Steve Jobs just introduced Facetime for the iPod Touch few minutes ago ... I think this is great news for iPhone 4 users as there must be a way now to initiate a video conversation without making a phone call :) ...

Here's what weird Mr. iPhone. If we get the iPod Touch 4 in Lebanon, we won't have issues using Facetime with it. Meaning: iOS 4.1 we will be able to facetime by using emails, meaning no more carrier issues using Facetime.

Didn't work here as well. I thought they would implement it the same as in the iPod Touch 4. Facetime is activated when a request SMS is sent. Someone needs to make an app that takes advantage of Facetime and put it in the app store so people with the issues get it fixed.

There's a free application on the App Store called "FaceNow"... It does initiate a FaceTime session ... Would you like to try it? ...

Why would you need a jailbreak to try FaceTime ??

Dear akramk, have you tried using Facetime on your friend's phone with your Alfa sim card? Is Facetime still active since it was already activated with the MTC sim card? Can you try it please?

Already did mr iPhone. But It deactivated his FaceTime so I decided to seize the entire operation :P
Already had the idea 1 week ago it's a good one but pity it doesn't work!

This is really frustrating ... I've been trying all possible solutions to activate Facetime with no success... Have anyone tried "FaceNow" (it's a free app at the app store) ...

I did already, completely useless. A shortcut for facetime contacts, requires facetime activated!

Called Alfa and sent the tech guys a few emails regarding facetime. the problem is that the 1 time activation sms sent from Apple's UK server to the phone is reaching MTC users but not Alfa (my brother's MTC line was activated immediatly and he was able to initiate the call even while on flight mode with only wifi turned on). for some reason the sms is being blocked and they have no clue what to do....
All of us need to put pressure on them

Dear mojo, just called alfa (after I visited them 3 weeks ago and got no feedback since then) and i was told that someone else has the same Facetime issue (I think it's you, since they said I'm the second person) and that they're investigating it at the IT dept. ... Anyway, I told them that if they don't get us and answer in one week or so, I'll raise the whole issue in the newspapers precisely An-nahar Newspaper ...
