I got an invitations from ISOC (Internet Society) to attend a conference discussing Internet in Lebanon and in the middle east on the 14th of October. I might actually attend, and wanted to know if some of you are going? Or even got the invitation.
Georges
I got the invitation few days ago through Hotmail. And I just read the first 2 lines and deleted the email.
So basically no, i'm not planning to attend.

I just laugh at those conferences with all due respect to all attendees.
But what is there to discuss about? We have shitty infrastructure, shitty international bandwidth, promises that have been given left and right, nothing to look forward to in the near future; so, what is there to discuss about?
rolf
I would go if I'm here. Can be fun. Maybe we can stage a revolution :-D
EddieEC
@Rolf I'm so in for a revolution. It's on October 14th.
mir
me wants to go
is it private invites, registration or public-on door entrance/registration
btw, do you know any of the panelists?
and i still think, going to such conference where at least you can meet influential people and lobby/work for change is better than sitting home and nagging :)
if the geeks dont' work toward improving the situation, who would ? the politicians who type with one finger on their laptop keyboard - that is if they used one ?
EddieEC
I have no idea if it is a private invite but I think it's public.

I received an invite but i think people with authority are allowed to attend aka executives because it is for free.
