Unless the rubber ring sticks to the pen, this needs repositioning as well (unless you lift the pen's tip and roll it in place, vroom vroom!)
In fact it takes more time to line this up in the direction you really want, since there is no long, straight line (as in a ruler) to guide you. There's no "preview" of where your pen is going, and a difference of just a couple degrees can mess up a line.
However I'd like to see a video of this thing in action :)
