J4D Guys , its finally connected to the computer and functional ! , here is a pic of the interface coded in java , pressing the arrow buttons on the keyboard now move the tank !
Georges Amazing. Time for another Video on Youtube :) and please. try your best jad to have a good quality camera.
Xsever Jad man you have good cameras ! Why do all your videos turn up with bad quality. Ya good quality ya dnt tease us with 0.8 FPS footage :D
J4D I have many good cameras , but not one single decent internet connection to upload a multi-megabyte video ;) , ill see what i can do this time . Edit : work is being done at the moment to interface joystick control on the tank .
J4D Thanks again flak , ill try to do some video first thing tomorrow morning ! :) Updates : software is now recognizing joysticks connected to the computer , whats left is some mathematical calculations to connect it to the program X,Y axis ! , and after that comes the implementation of some AI ! letting the tank roam on its own ! :) the interface is being done by my two programing friends Ayman farhat and nader sleiman / Ayman will be working later on the Artificial intelligence .
J4D The software and its source can be found here for people interested ! :) http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UTC8S3SN
arithma This is some cool stuff you got there. Love the PC interaction part. You only need a camera in there, and you would be on the way to make an autonomous vehicle.
J4D thanks arithma ! :) i guess a camera is the next step ! :) here is the link for the youtube video ! :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vetjUn14c0U
J4D project is nearing its finish , Sharp IR sensor is installed at the front of the tank , a rotational IR "radar" is to be set atop the vehicle . program now is very advanced taking action from joysticks and various inputs , as well as 4 outputs to be increased to 8 soon ! :) here are the new pics , a full report will be released on the project once we finish . a software part by the programing team Ayman Farhat and Nader Sleiman , and a hardware part by me .
battikh infrared? he would need to have a direct line of sight at all time and would have to point towards the tank to send commands. infrared sucks big time. i still vote for bluetooth (or WiFi) and controlling it from a phone. even better, using and iphone/ipod touch or whatever phone has an accelerometer to drive it.
J4D im not looking for cooler , im looking for functionality , with RF i have freedom to move anywhere with no line of sight ;) while with IR i need to have the TX facing the tank at all times .
