Playstation 3 questions

Hello all,

I might get a PS3 soon, but I have some questions:

1. Has someone got an ISO Loader so I can put boot the games from the hard drive instead of buying the Bluray discs?
2. What mod chips are offered in Lebanon?
3. How much do the 40gb and 60gb versions cost in Lebanon?
4. Any idea if someone offers game rentals?

The PS3 is an awesome all in entertainment system.
I'm planning to get one also.
Let me try to answer some of your questions:

1) I haven't tried searching for one. But come to think of it a Bluray game varries between 25 and 50 GB which isn't such a viable option imo.
2) Concerning mod chips I can link you to couple of guys who you can ask about all sorts of modding. Click here
3) I 've seen them in waseet ranging from $520 to $650. ( As usual they dont clearly state what version it is)
4) I'll try to dig some site I found which offers ps3 rentals in lebanon (weirdly enough ;) )

for 1), as far as I know most of the games are smaller than 13 gigs :)

if u mod it u'll probably lose all access to the online gaming and updates. you might say that the online gaming is not required, but it's really fun. at least for me, prefer to play online, and it extends the game life, so no need to get new games as often as if you don't play them online.
but in general, the ps3 is really great, seriously an awesome multimedia box, gaming, movies (dvd, bluray, mpeg, avi, ....), mp3s, internet browser, ... and the fact that you can install on it linux, plug your mouse and keyboard, and use it as a pc is just great.

Yes, we ended up getting it (my brothers and I). I'm mostly using it as a media center. I only have GTA and a bunch of demos.

I'm getting one too soon to play Shirokishi Monogatari when it gets released in engrish (which should happen in the next couple of months). Quite a good piece of hardware, aight ? Have you tried hooking it online to download demos and stuff ?

My brother did all that, it worked fine I guess :)
Also note that I bought it from a FNAC in France.
