Saw this on my Feeds Wall on Facebook, from Ookla:
If you're having issues logging into Speedtest.net this morning, it's due to a bigger issue that we're working on fixing right now. Will let you know when it's fixed.
It seems this greater issue is what we are experiencing right now.
Check Cyberia's packages:

It might have already begun!
I usually download at night automatically between 11pm and 7am. In 4 years, the best I could ever reach with the 1Mbps given at night by Terranet has been 1.5GB downloaded (Kudos Terranet, seriously).
Last night, I reached a record-breaking 1.9GB in 8 hours. I know this is still mathematically correct for the speed (sustained 70KB/s theoretical), but between the highs and the lows of traffic fluctuations, this is exceptionally good. It means there's definitely more bandwidth available underneath.
Terranet seems to have been busy on the line these last few days, with very slow moments during the day. Perhaps this marks the end of it and sign they're fully ready for the speed bump. Just felt like sharing the positive news.
Actually this might explain something, my modem reports
DSL Status: UP
DSL Modulation Mode: Auto
DSL Path Mode: FAST
Downstream Rate: 2044 Kbps
Upstream Rate: 1023 Kbps
Downstream Margin: 31 db
Upstream Margin: 23 db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 14
Upstream Line Attenuation: 11
Downstream Transmit Power: 16
Upstream Transmit Power: 11
LOS Errors: 0
Hmm so that might not completely be the proof of an IMEWE effect just yet, just more downstream bandwidth (if you see what I mean). I'm very happy nonetheless!
hey i just called my isp(sodetel) technical support and they told me that starting from monday you will see the effects of the new speeds.i just hope that the pings will improve .does someone have an idea about them?
Well my speed was definitely upgraded , im now getting around 3.5 mbps , but the ping is still extremely high, around 400 ms with damascus server for example.
whats your isp?
"The Web Site is currently being updated. You can't currently view your bills, please try loging in later ..... "
ogero website.. its close people!
IDM 256K new plan
You are currently subscribed to Pre-Paid DSL 1024K 6GB
I redone the ping test go around 400ms :(

Ogero 1PM nthing changed ..
Ogero support: Changes will be made next month :(
^ I just called; he said 'Theoretically, it should be upgraded today but, swear to God, we have no idea. Call us on Tuesday or Wednesday.'
Frustrating.

Got the message today from IDM and checked my account: from old 512 to 2M gradually.
Currently at:
Same results here except my download is almost constant at 0.85 Mbps.
For sodetel users, one technical support told my friend in 15 days the upgrade will start for all users, while i called them they told me in 10 days.
I say call them as much as you can (the support) (once per day), so they wont postpone the upgrade. I fear the next month the new phase will start.
Does anyone know what are Terranet's packages?
IDM User: No speed upgrade; but the quotas went UP!

Lebanon is not on the list any more !!

Lebanon is not on the list any more !!
That is just HILARIOUS
we are off the list, but not off the site
http://www.netindex.com/download/2,104/Lebanon/
the reason they removed us is most probably because our average just went below previous lowest ranked country(Iran)
so officially, according to the site, we are now the slowest in the world :/
Even though Sodetel did not upgrade their plans, but I was having a nice low ping for the past couple months, it is not always like that, because I dont have the Fixed IP package, depending on the IP my modem acquires, sometimes I am on the Satellite pool with a high latency (300-400 ms) other times on the Fiber pool with low latency like that:
This is my ping to bbc.co.uk:
C:\Users\Aly>ping bbc.co.uk -t

Now I did a trace route to bbc.co.uk to see the route and I pinged an IP belonging to Level 3, a quick look-up shows that it is located in France near Marseilles, but the latency was amazingly about 55ms to France !

I also tried to search for Telecom companies / ISPs in Marseilles and ping them, I found this www.digicom-telecom.com and as you can see the ping below:

I can positively confirm that this connection is through the IMEWE cable and I hope that once Sodetel upgrade their packages the latency stays like that 24/7 and no Satellite Bullshit, even though I did quit online gaming years ago, but if this will be the case in the upcoming months I might buy BF3 and enjoy it online :)
PS: the latency between me and sodetel is about 15ms, my line is very good with those parameters:
Line Coding(Trellis): On On
SNR Margin (0.1 dB Down/UP): 302 310
Attenuation (0.1 dB Down/UP): 290 175
Output Power (0.1 dBm): 89 118
Attainable Rate (Kbps): 11360 1376
Sodetel 512Kbps regular, noon
No improvements yet, this is the usual speed at this time.
