You can't have an HTTP ping of 32ms and you are lagging 45 ms to DSLAM

I'd say something is buggy in the speedtest java thing... I would run the test on pingtest.net to confirm..

Aside from those occasional freezes, I have been experiencing "bursts" where it appears my speed and latency are much better--then it goes back to its normal slightly sluggish self.  Hopefully it means they are upgrading and working on stuff, but I don't know.

Sorry for posting this but I was, like the majority here, suffering from the bad internet until I moved to the UK, and specifically to the Imperial College and then did my internet speed test

No big changes in speed

However, if you go to http://www.wunderground.com/, it will display the weather based on your ip address.  Until the last few days, I had 3 places show up:  Beirut,  Houche-Al-Oumara, or London.  Now, I have gotten Ras Beirut, Jbeil, and Tripoli.  I just wonder if means whether they have added more IP addresses and mapped them out or some other unrelated or related reason.

I am sure that my ISP tricked speedtest, this can't be possible!!
The upload speed is very low and when I download a file I don't get more than 30 kB/s (128k private ISP)!!

yeah--if you get something that is way off, go to either http://testmy.net/ or http://www.yourspeedtest.net/ to double check your values.

Info: Total bandwidth at AUB has been currently upgraded from 86MB to 112MB. There are plans to upgrade further soon.

I'm also an Ogero user and I get this sometimes, my theory to this is that maybe they don't have anymore Lebanese IPs available so they assign us with cheap British/American Ones. usually if you want this to be fixed just restart the router/modem and you should normally get an Lebanese IP again.

IMHO they got this IP's from upstream provider and just lazy to change whois records.

I used to be with Fastnet in 2006-2008 before ADSL reached my town. the connection was down like 20% of the time.

Today I logged in to my Linksys and saw this:

I have a  Downstream Rate of 4399 Kbps and an Upstream Rate of 1098 Kbps, however I am getting the same old result when I test it on SpeedTest. I have 512 Kb/s IDM package with double speed and Unlimited Night Traffic.

you're the second IDM subscriber having such changes, I've just seen some one having downstream of 8Mbps and upstream of 1.3 Mbps and he's also 512 kbps (Achrafieh)

On my SpeedTouch 546, the results are the same as Ghaleb's and my ISP is IDM with 512k plan:

i think this means that even when we receive the 2 Mbps upgrades, the double speed nights will remain. Because before, the same page used to display 1.024 download speed.
