Geek Girl Camp - Lebanon

Hello guys,

This summer nasawiya.org - are organizing a geek girl camp in July.
The aim is to get more girls interested in tech in general and to give a little encouragement/support to those ladies who like tech and are hesitating a bit in taking it as a major.

I will be helping them in this camp - the places are very limited - 25 only - it is for free - we are raising funds to cover the costs ( 200$ in avg per girl ) .... so if you happen to know little geekettes - let them know :) - the amount of cuteness in the application replies is overwhelming - the "i wanna be a computer inventor" and such.

yes, if we get to keep the newborn kids and turn them into highly trained ubber geeks - you know highly trained tech kids to do future hacking jobs.

We need a pervert comment filter on this forum. No one will be allowed to say anything.
@mir: Don't you think going after the girls as geeks so explicitly will make them know they're "special" rather than part of a more homogenous geek community.
I'd rather call for a geek camp for the youngsters where both genders are encouraged to join.
Don't get me wrong, am not against the girl geek camp, just calling your attention to something in addition in the wider picture.

@arithma : i know what u are talking about - and i agree - if there was a general geek camp - i would have helped also - but considering that the geek community is lacking ladies - ye3neh shi 1% is almost nothing - i don't think this camp is "wrong". and i guess the funding and image of the camp to "encourage" ladies would have been totally different if it was both genders.
