Many web developers were waiting for this release were HTML5 has new and better functionality which facilitate the development of rich internet applications(RIA). The HTML 5 has new markup element such as <nav>, <audio>, <canvas>, <video>, <footer> and more.
Check out this link for detailed specifications: http://dev.w3.org/html5/spec/ :)
All what we need now is better browser support though :/
Btw, what do you think of this release will it affect you much as a web developer?
Firefox 3.5 supports HTML 5.
Firefox 3.5 supports HTML 5.
Yeah of course, but the problem is with the older browsers such as IE6
IE6? If I ever see someone using that, I will give him hell. Eh IE8 w anja2 byemchi
I use Firefox as my main and Chrome occasionally and I never wait for a page to load.
Hmrgh I skimmed it, tried to understant what the canvas element does (seems quite complicated, scritpt-based)
I just hoped theyd have rewritten the awful div implementation into something more logical so that developers can use div-based developing without having to pull artistic/magical/mystical tricks to get what they want.
It will effect me as a developer because I'm still getting the hang of full potential of 4 and CSS2 crap.
DIV is a pain, but I just started enjoying it honestly.
meh HTML5 is still a long shot... not even five years down the road...
