Power a car amp with a PC power supply

You can use a PC power supply for several things. They are also good to power car amps, if you have a car amp that you want to use at home.
Now the main problem is: how do I turn it on without a motherboard?

I must warn you first:
Since the power supply is expecting certain sensing circuit feedback to regulate the output voltage, manually starting it without attaching it to the motherboard could cause damage to the power supply.
It can get damaged in a way that it will not be able to power a PC, but still give you 12v power, or it can stop functionning altogether, but I think this is pretty rare.

Now how to do it: Easy, all you need to do is connect the green pin with any black pin on the motherboard connector, and it will go on.

These power supplies are good to run a car amp since they will give a pretty constant voltage. But you'll most probably need to wire 2 or more power supplies in parallel to have enough amperage for the car amp (that is if your amp is as big as mine,  )

Here's to help you find the green pin:

why not? you can, say, run 2 500 w power supplies in parallel...
