eliefares Just went through it with an iPhone 4 and iPhone 2G and wrote this guide: http://stateofmind13.com/2012/04/09/lebanese-iphone-users-how-to-get-att-to-unlock-it/
chosen2k I've done that almost a year ago with LG phones. it works with all types of locked phones not just iPhones :) http://www.lebgeeks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?pid=69331#p69331
samer eliefares wrote^ No, AT&T started to unlock iPhones on Sunday. He is not saying the contrary. He just mentioned that the same process applies for other phones.
m-sabra just run through this on an Iphone 4,got a case number and a date for the email. thank you for the tutorial, hope i will get my unlock code soon :)
samer Did they ask for a proof of purchase? I have no idea what to provide them with. I got mine from an Apple Store in San Francisco, and I don't have the receipt anymore. I do however still have the box.
eliefares They didn't ask one of me. But I think the warranty page on Apple's website where you submit the serial number should be enough. Either way, the process I outlined works. People who have tried it are starting to receive emails telling them their iPhones are unlocked.
eliefares Many people managed to get their phones unlocked. I personally didn't hear anything and eventually stopped asking because I didn't care whether my 2G got unlocked or not. However, they changed their policy and they don't offer unlocks to people who are not AT&T customers anymore.
